Fresh ginger infusion
It is a recipe for a decoction of ginger with lemon and honey. The decoction is the fact of infusing the product while continuing to heat the water, while the infusion is investing the product in simmering water that has stopped heating.
For products such as roots, it is preferable to make a decoction to get the maximum of the active ingredients, the infusion being somewhat reserved for the leaves, flowers, and other “fragile” parts of the plants. If you want to infuse the ginger, then prefer to grate the root and invest it for 20 minutes in simmering water.
For 1l of detox decoction with fresh ginger and lemon, i.e., 4 cups:
Ingredients
· 1l of water
· 5 cm of ginger
· Optional: 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 teaspoons of honey
Preparation
1. Remove the skin from the ginger root and finely chop it into slices.
2. Put the water to boil in a bucket.
3. When the water begins to boil, add the ginger, continue to heat on low heat, and continue the infusion for 20 minutes. A decoction is the best way to get the most out of ginger roots.
4. Then remove from heat and let steep for another 15 minutes, covering with a lid.
5. Once the infusion is complete, pour in the lemon juice and honey, then mix. It’s ready!

Powdered ginger infusion
It is more comfortable and more convenient to make a ginger drink with ginger powder. However, the taste will be different from a drink made with fresh ginger, and the glass will be less hot. In terms of health benefits, the two are equally good if the ginger has been dried properly. This remains my preferred method.
